About Spring
Spring Pilates UK was founded by Kirsty, an APPI‑trained Pilates instructor with a practical, thoughtful approach to movement. What began as a small home‑based studio has grown into a dedicated Pilates space with a brilliant team of instructors, in a beautiful converted Victorian chocolate factory — without losing the personal feel that clients value.

Today, Spring Pilates UK is a welcoming studio where people come to build strength, recover from injury, manage ongoing aches and pains, or simply move better in everyday life. Our instructors are highly trained, approachable, and genuinely invested in helping clients feel comfortable, capable, and supported.

Our Expertise
By focusing on functional movement, Pilates supports the way your body moves in everyday life. Improving movement patterns can help reduce or manage daily pain, while building strength in a safe, structured way that genuinely supports your body.
While many of our clients are pain‑free, we also have extensive experience working with people who have specific challenges or conditions, always adapting sessions to suit individual needs.
We regularly support clients with:
Pre‑habilitation before surgery
Preparing the body ahead of procedures such as hip or knee replacements can reduce pain while waiting for surgery and often leads to a smoother, faster recovery afterwards.
Post‑surgery or injury rehabilitation
Thoughtful, progressive Pilates helps restore movement, strength and confidence as the body heals and normal daily life resumes.
Long‑term conditions
Clients with conditions such as scoliosis, hypermobility or osteoporosis can benefit greatly from regular, tailored Pilates, improving strength, stability and everyday movement.
Pre- and post‑natal Pilates
Pilates offers valuable support throughout pregnancy and beyond, helping clients adapt to physical changes and rebuild strength after birth.
WORKSHOPS – MORE COMING SOON!
Moving Fascia®
Moving Fascia® is a gentle, fascia-focused approach that combines movement, breath and body awareness. Using simple, adaptable tools such as the Moving Fascia® balls, the method helps release hidden tension, ease discomfort and support the nervous system.
Rather than working on isolated muscles, Moving Fascia® encourages you to experience the body as a connected whole; one integrated system. By exploring how different parts of the body relate to one another, movement becomes smoother, more efficient and easier to sustain.
The result is improved mobility, clearer movement patterns and a greater sense of ease — helping you move with more confidence and comfort in everyday life.
This work complements Pilates perfectly and is suitable for everyone, including those with injuries or conditions. Everything is modifiable and the Moving Fascia® work can often yield results where other forms of exercise or therapy have not.
Moving fascia workshops run every few weeks throughout the year. These 2-hour workshops focus on a particular area of the body each time. Using the Moving Fascia method and equipment, we’ll explore guided movements to release restriction, improve mobility, and deepen awareness of how the whole body connects and works as a system.
Moving Fascia® is a registered trademark of Evolve Movement Education Ltd and is used with their permission.

Personal sessions, designed around you
-
Our one-to-one equipment sessions use the full range of Pilates equipment (reformer, Tower, barrel and Chair) to support, challenge and strengthen your body in a way that makes sense for you.
Your instructor will take time to understand your body, your goals and how you move, then build sessions that evolve as you do.
-
Are recovering from injury or managing pain
Want more support than a group class offers
Are returning to exercise after time away or are a complete beginner
Want to build strength safely and confidently
Enjoy a focused, tailored approach
Small groups, expert teaching
-
Our mat classes are kept small – never more than 8 people, so you’ll still get individual attention, clear guidance and plenty of options. Classes often use small equipment, and are designed to help you build strength, mobility and control at a steady, achievable pace. You will never be asked to work beyond your capabilities, but there will always be challenge if you want it.
-
Clear explanations and demonstrations
Options for different abilities
A relaxed, friendly atmosphere
Progression without pressure
To be challenged in a good way
Compact apparatus, full-body strength
-
Our split-pedal Chair classes are kept small, with a maximum of five people per session, so everyone gets the attention they need. The Chair uses resistance to build strength, improve stability and deliver real, noticeable results.
Less well known than the Reformer, the Chair is especially effective for functional movement. Many of the exercises are done seated or standing, which closely reflects how we move in everyday life. That said, don’t be fooled — the Chair can be challenging and is particularly effective for building core strength, balance and control.
-
Small, supportive groups with plenty of individual attention
Clear, thoughtful instruction
Gradual progression as strength and confidence build
Adaptations where needed, to support individual bodies and goals

Kirsty Himpfen-Jones
1:1 EQUIPMENT PILATES, GROUP MAT, GROUP CHAIR
-
Kirsty is the founder of Spring Pilates and a fully qualified mat and equipment Pilates instructor, trained with APPI (Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute) and as a Moving Fascia teacher, with a strong focus on clinical Pilates.
Her approach is shaped by a genuine passion for helping people feel stronger, more confident and more at ease in their bodies. After experiencing a significant back injury herself, Kirsty discovered Pilates and the powerful impact it can have on alignment, strength and long‑term recovery. Through consistent Pilates practice, she was able to avoid back surgery – an experience that continues to inform how she works with clients today.
Kirsty also holds additional qualifications in pre- and post‑natal Pilates, NHS referral, working with older adults, and managing lower back pain. A keen tennis player, she is particularly interested in how Pilates can support performance, prevent injury and aid rehabilitation – both in sport and everyday life.
Eliane Munier-Dautigny

Pilates has long been central to Eliane’s training, supporting strength, alignment, and injury prevention. Now a certified APPI Equipment and Mat Work Instructor, she teaches with a warm approach, helping clients feel stronger and more connected.
As a mother with experience in neurodiversity and high-level sport, Eliane believes in meeting clients where they are. Her specialist training includes Ante- and Post-Natal Pilates, Hypermobility, Scoliosis, Osteoporosis, and Breast Cancer Rehabilitation. She works with beginners to advanced clients, tailoring sessions so everyone feels safe, supported, and inspired to move with confidence and care today.
