Spring Pilates is a boutique equipment Pilates studio in Wood Green, North London.

Whatever your reason for coming to Pilates, we focus on strong fundamentals, clear teaching and precise, thoughtful movement. Feeling safe, supported and in control is central to how we work, and we take time to build trust with every client.

We work with a wide range of clients — from those recovering from injury or surgery, to people managing pain or simply wanting to build strength and flexibility.

1:1 Equipment Pilates Session with Kirsty

Over the years, we’ve helped hundreds of people recover from injury, manage ongoing issues and develop strength and conditioning routines that support their everyday lives. Our focus is on functional movement — so Pilates doesn’t just happen in the studio, it helps you move better and live your life to the full.

We believe Pilates should feel challenging but achievable, focused but enjoyable, and always relevant to real life.

Our Expertise

By focusing on functional movement, Pilates supports the way your body moves in everyday life. Improving movement patterns can help reduce or manage daily pain, while building strength in a safe, structured way that genuinely supports your body.

While many of our clients are pain‑free, we also have extensive experience working with people who have specific challenges or conditions, always adapting sessions to suit individual needs.

We regularly support clients with:

Pre-habilitation before surgery

Preparing the body ahead of procedures such as hip or knee replacements can reduce pain while waiting for surgery and often leads to a smoother, faster recovery afterwards.

Post-surgery or injury rehabilitation

Thoughtful, progressive Pilates helps restore movement, strength and confidence as the body heals and normal daily life resumes.

Long‑term conditions

Clients with conditions such as scoliosis, hypermobility or osteoporosis can benefit greatly from regular, tailored Pilates, improving strength, stability and everyday movement.

Pre- and post‑natal Pilates

Pilates offers valuable support throughout pregnancy and beyond, helping clients adapt to physical changes and rebuild strength after birth.

  • “You won’t believe it, but I’ve literally had no back pain all day! Genuinely! I mean, the rest of me strangely feels like I’ve had an intense workout – hips, bum, abs etc. But my back hasn’t ached today at all. Whatever you did, it totally worked!”

    Mark Patterson, 1:1 client

  • “I love the classes and can feel the various muscle groups working. I’ve found I feel much stronger and more stable when moving about during the day. One of our cars is a lovely small electric Vauxhall Corsa and I now get in and out of it really smoothly and quickly without any of the old persons grunts and groans!”

    Marion Still, online client

  • “I was new to Pilates when I joined Kirsty’s class and it’s been a great experience. Pilates has quickly helped my fitness, strength, flexibility and balance. Kirsty is patient, clear in explaining the exercises, and quietly encouraging. She links what we’re doing to the tennis court and it definitely improves my game. Gains so far; core strength, coordination, and confidence. Classes are taxing, geared to capability and fun.”

    Richard Mechan, tennis player

  • “Amazing pilates instructor, I've seen massive improvements since working with her. Can't recommend her highly enough.”

Halina, group class client and 1:1 equipment pilates client

  • “Kirsty is an outstanding teacher who brings her extensive knowledge and enthusiasm to every session. She is very attentive, giving clear instructions and offering individual help when needed. Her positive approach makes her classes accessible and motivating. I would highly recommend Kirsty, I have had many Pilates teachers over the years and she is exceptional.”

Explore what we offer

Personal sessions, designed around you

  • Our one-to-one equipment sessions use the full range of Pilates equipment (reformer, Tower, barrel and Chair) to support, challenge and strengthen your body in a way that makes sense for you.

Your instructor will take time to understand your body, your goals and how you move, then build sessions that evolve as you do.

    • Are recovering from injury or managing pain

    • Want more support than a group class offers

    • Are returning to exercise after time away or are a complete beginner

    • Want to build strength safely and confidently

    • Enjoy a focused, tailored approach

Small groups, expert teaching

  • Our mat classes are kept small – never more than 8 people, so you’ll still get individual attention, clear guidance and plenty of options. Classes often use small equipment, and are designed to help you build strength, mobility and control at a steady, achievable pace. You will never be asked to work beyond your capabilities, but there will always be challenge if you want it.

    • Clear explanations and demonstrations

    • Options for different abilities

    • A relaxed, friendly atmosphere

    • Progression without pressure

    • To be challenged in a good way

Compact apparatus, full-body strength

  • Our split-pedal Chair classes are kept small, with a maximum of five people per session, so everyone gets the attention they need. The Chair uses resistance to build strength, improve stability and deliver real, noticeable results.

Less well known than the Reformer, the Chair is especially effective for functional movement. Many of the exercises are done seated or standing, which closely reflects how we move in everyday life. That said, don’t be fooled — the Chair can be challenging and is particularly effective for building core strength, balance and control.

    • Small, supportive groups with plenty of individual attention

    • Clear, thoughtful instruction

    • Gradual progression as strength and confidence build

    • Adaptations where needed, to support individual bodies and goals
